Ada Christine Bailey's Obituary
Ada Christine Bailey, 87, passed away March 23, 2018.
Born October 30, 1930, in Lawrenceville, GA, to the late James Thomas, and Vera Mae Brady Herrington, Chris was a good wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, and prided herself on her work ethic. She spent most of her life working in retail as a cashier, but in retirement found a new calling as a school crossing guard. Chris loved to travel with family and friends, and one of her best memories was the summer she, her husband, her sister and sister’s husband rode their motorcycles to New Orleans. Being fiercely independent, both women rode their own bikes. She was married to her best friend, George Bailey, for 68 years and while Chris was not a good photographer, she still took pride in her pictures of family. Mr. and Mrs. B shared many laughs and adventures over their years together.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Bailey; son, Steve Bailey; brother, Troy Herrington; and her sister, Angela Rogers. Chris is survived by her sons, Phil Bailey, and Kelley (Barb) Bailey; her sister, Vivian (Jearold) Gunter; grandsons, Daniel (Lacy) Bailey, and Joshua (Nicole) Bailey; granddaughter Laura Stroup (Keith) Huffstutler; great-granddaughters, Melanie, Kaycie, and Harper Bailey, and Kristen and Megan Huffstutler.
The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Tuesday evening, 03/27/18, at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home, Southside. A funeral service will be conducted at 10am on Wednesday, 03/28/18, at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Burial Park.
