Mrs. Curry was my principal when I did my student teaching at Lime Street. She hired me the next year as. 1st grade teacher. I taught under her from 1972-1977. I learned so much from her and have so much respect for her. I once told her I was worried about teaching first graders to read. She laughed and said they would learn in spite of me!!! She was right!
I will miss her!
I am a past president of the Buttons & Bows Square and Round Dance Club of Lakeland, as were both of your parents. Your dad was president in 1987-1988 and your mother did two terms in 1994-1996. I remember they participated in everything - attendance at the dances, serving on committees, helping in the kitchen, greeting, and I believe they also served in some other offices but I no longer have those records. I am going through old Buttons & Bows files at this time, and there are a lot of pictures with your parents in them. Those of us that are still around have been attending a lot of funerals over the past two or three years and I believe the last time I saw your mother, was at one of those funerals.
