VERNA MARIE (ALLETTE) DAVIS, 89 of Lakeland FL, formerly of Jamestown, NY is at peace in heaven now after a brief illness on January 28,2023. She was the daughter of Jasper and Mary (Saldi) Allette who immigrated here from Sicily, Italy. She lived the majority of her life in Jamestown, NY where she was an executive secretary at Watson Mfg. Co and then for Cornell & Reins Furniture store. She is preceded in death by both her parents and all 7 siblings; Jennie Cuoco, Josephine Tumminia, Joseph Allette, Charles Allette, Nina Cook, Michael Allette, and her youngest brother Jack, born with Down Syndrome, whom she especially cared for all his life. Verna outlived her 3 husbands: Angelo Garifi, Augustine Aiello and Lewis Davis. Her family was her life as she enjoyed Cooking Italian specialties and sharing family recipes. She is survived by her 2 sons: Anthony Garifi (Lynn) of Lakeland, FL and James Garifi (Debbie) of Saugus, CA. Her 5 Grandchildren, Alexandrea Garifi, Nicholas Garifi (Tabitha), Renee Garifi, Kaitlyn Garifi and Kevin Garifi. 3 Great Grandchildren: Gabriella Garifi, Madisyn Garifi and Colson Garifi and numerous nieces and nephews that she kept in close contact over the years. Raised Catholic, she had a deep faith that she shared with everyone. A funeral Mass will be said at Church of the Resurrection on Friday February 17, 2023 at 11:00AM. With interment at Oak Hill Cemetery, Lakeland, FL.
