Thomas Miles "Duane" Smith May 2, 1948 – August 29, 2025

Thomas Miles Duane Smith, 77, of Lakeland, Florida, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2025. Born in Hamilton, Ohio, to Thomas and Lena Smith, Thomas devoted his life to faith, family, and ministry.

In 1967, Thomas married the love of his life, Ruth, with whom he shared nearly six decades of unwavering companionship and love. Together, they built a life rooted in service and spiritual devotion. A proud and faithful member of the Church of the Nazarene, Thomas dedicated over 40 years of his life as an Evangelist and Song Evangelist, traveling and ministering to countless congregations across the country. His powerful voice and heartfelt message touched the lives of many and left a lasting legacy of hope and inspiration.

Thomas had called Lakeland home for the past 25 years, where he continued to serve with humility and grace. He will be remembered for his deep faith, his joyful spirit, and his unwavering dedication to sharing God's love through word and song.

He is deeply missed by his beloved wife, Ruth; his sisters, Kathy Letcher and Sharon Smith; and his brother, Scott Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Lena Smith.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Serenity Gardens, 3350 Mall Hill Drive, Lakeland, Florida.
