In Loving Memory of Tamara Kay Perry
December 13, 1966 – October 18, 2026
Tamara Kay Perry, 59, of Davenport, Florida, passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2026.
Born in Tiffin, Ohio, Tamara spent most of her life in Florida, where she built a life centered on family, faith, and education.
A graduate of Lake Gibson High School and Warner Southern College, Tamara earned multiple master’s degrees and dedicated her career to education. As an assistant principal with the Polk County School District, she was passionate about helping students succeed, supporting teachers, and making a positive difference in the lives of others.
Above all, Tamara loved her family. She treasured time spent together and found joy in cooking, baking, crafting, reading, and celebrating Christmas. She shared a precious bond with her granddaughter, Sophia, who brought immeasurable joy to her life and held a special place in her heart. Known for her quick wit, playful spirit, and wonderfully cheesy jokes and puns, Tamara had a special way of bringing laughter to those around her. Guided by her Methodist faith, she was caring, compassionate, and always willing to lend a listening ear.
Tamara was preceded in death by her parents, Judith May Peeler and Colin Scott Bruce Sr., and her sister, Tina Lynn Bruce.
She is survived by her beloved daughter, Mariah; cherished granddaughter, Sophia; loving siblings Crystal Isaac, Tim Bruce (Ana), and Scott Bruce (Shanna); her devoted niece Ashley Mossow (Tyler); and many more nieces and nephews, along with extended family members and friends.
Tamara will be remembered for her love of family, dedication to education, kindness, and the laughter she brought into the lives of others. Her memory will live on through the countless lives she touched and the cherished moments shared with those she loved.
