Susan
Zielinski
April 10, 1957 – December 4, 2024
Ms. Susan Zielinski, 67 of Lakeland passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at her home. Susan was born to George and Louise Powers in Chicopee, Massachusetts. She moved to Lakeland thirty-five years ago. Through her life, she found a fondness for serving others. She loved children and had a skill for teaching. Susan had a career as a preschool teacher and molded many minds, instilling life lessons in each one. Additionally, she served as a Girl Scout leader. However, her grandchildren were the ones which tipped the scale with her admiration. She loved them unconditionally and was known to be the best grandmother ever. Susan found solace in the sea breeze, whether it be a cruise, a trip to Ana Maria Island or the simplicity of sand between her toes and the clap waves, she was home.
In addition to her family, she shared her life and heart with Brian Connelly for the past sixteen years. They completed each other and cherished the life they had together. She was a wonderful mother, family member and friend to all who had the honor of knowing her.
Susan was preceded in death by her parents, George and Louise (Cuzzone) Powers; brothers, Jimmy Capko, Jack Powers, Michael Powers; and sister, Janet Lynch.
She is lovingly survived and sorely missed by her companion, Brian; daughter, Jillian Zielinski; son, Adam Zielinski; brother George Powers and her two grandchildren, Adam and Carter.
Though Susan's passing has left an unfillable void in the lives of her family, the memories they shared, her caring spirit and loving nature will guide their paths. It is these blessings which will nurture in generations to come.
