Lakeland- Susan M Pate, 65, passed away July 16, 2021 after a 10 yr battle with Alzheimer's. Born Nov 4, 1955 in Boynton Beach, FL, she grew up in Charlotte & Rowland NC. Susan is survived by her husband of 47 yrs, Tommy Pate, daughters, Erin Lewis, Chiusi, Italy and Robyn Lela Pate, St. Augustine, FL, step-mother, Nancy Whittington, brothers Johnny, Max, Dean & Doug Whittington. She was preceded in death by her mother, Elizabeth Gibbs Whittington, father, John H. Whittington and brother, Andy.

Susan worked part time in banking, as a receptionist & church secretary but her passion was being a devoted wife and mother. She was very active in her church, teaching Jr. High Sunday School and leading kids musicals. Susan used her beautiful voice as a soloist and continued to sing hymns even after being unable to communicate through speech.

A Celebration of Life will be held on July 30, 2021 at Legacy Christian Church, Lakeland. Visitation at 2 PM and service at 3 PM with a light meal following. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Lake Aurora Christian Camp, 237 Goldenbough Rd Lake Wales FL 33898. lakeaurora.org
