STANLEY ROLAND KENDRICK, 66
GTE Lineman
LAKELAND - Mr. Stanley Roland Kendrick, 66, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 31, 2015. He was born in Jacksonville, NC, and moved to Lakeland in 1952. Roland worked as a Lineman for GTE for 26 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church at The Mall, and also member of the GTE Breakfast Group. Roland graduated from Kathleen High School in 1967. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and gardener. He was an advocate for furthering research to cure Parkinson's disease.
Roland was preceded in death by his father Stanley Kendrick; brothers in law Wayne and Charles Bryant. Survivors include his wife Joyce; mother Agnes Kendrick of Lakeland; sisters Mary Sall of Tomball, TX, Brenda Downie of Lakeland; brothers in law, Irvin James, Harry, and John Bryant and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Wednesday, 6 - 8pm at Gentry-Morrison at Serenity Gardens Funeral Home, 3350 Mall Hill Dr. and Thursday, 10 - 11 am at First Baptist Church at The Mall, 1010 W. Memorial Blvd. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 am with interment to follow at Socrum Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Parkinson Foundation.
