Shirley Wirick Lakeland – Shirley Wirick, 77, passed away June 23, 2018. Shirley was born on May 5, 1941 in Gary, Indiana, and remained a lifelong resident of northwest Indiana until her move to Florida in 2015. She was a 1959 graduate of Merrillville High School and worked for Lake Ridge Schools for 45 years as Treasurer until her retirement in 2004. Shirley served as a deacon at Living Hope Church in Merrillville, IN for 16 years. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Wilber and Gladys Wirick; brother, Kenneth Wirick; and sister in law, Barbara Wirick. She is survived by her brother, James Wirick; and sister in law, Joanne Wirick. A memorial service will be conducted Tuesday, July 17th at 11 am at Bethel Baptist Church.
