Lakeland – Sandra Throckmorton, 59, died August 30, 2015 in her residence after a 14 month battle with lung cancer.

She worked as an Administrative Assistant for the State of Florida for more than 20 years and also worked for Geico for 6 years. She enjoyed reading, going to the beach and spending time with family.

Ms. Throckmorton was preceded in death by mother Betty Jean Gammon; siblings Gail Stacey, Michael Gammon, Gary Gammon and is survived by daughters Anne-Marie (Jason) Williams, Kristin Throckmorton; significant other Richard Wright; father Kenneth Gammon; sister Debra Shipley; grandchildren Chris Williams and Carey Williams. She also left behind many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces, Nephews and Special Friends.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, 09/01/15, from 6-8 pm at Gentry-Morrison Southside Chapel, 1727 Bartow Rd. ,Lakeland. A funeral service will be held at Highland Park Church of the Nazarene, 4777 Lakeland Highlands Rd. Lakeland, Wednesday, 09/02/15 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Sandra has requested donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
