Rudolph Joseph "Rudy" Kalisz, Jr., 79, of Lakeland, Florida, passed away on March 16, 2026. Born on October 11, 1946, in Wheeling, West Virginia, Rudy was known for his charisma, humor and passionate personality. He dedicated his life to his family, showcasing his loving, spiritual, and strong character.
Rudy graduated from Bridgeport High School in 1964 and proudly served in the Army. His career spanned several industries, including roles as a long-haul freight driver, factory worker at Penn Power and Weirton Steel Mill, machine operator at Sherwin Williams warehouse, and finally at Walmart warehouse.
An active member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Follansbee, WV, and later Resurrection Catholic Church in Lakeland, FL, Rudy was deeply rooted in his faith. He enjoyed golf, NASCAR, supporting the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins, refereeing high school basketball, coaching his children's sports teams, and spending time with his family at the beach, amusement parks, flea markets, playing cards, and going to the movies.
Rudy was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Andrea Lee Foster Kalisz, his father Rudolph J. Kalisz, Sr., and his mother, Helen Rash. He is survived by his son, Todd Kalisz and daughter-in-law Christina Kalisz; daughter, Kerri Stock and son-in-law Brian Stock; granddaughter Camille Kalisz; grandson Seth Kalisz; sisters Helen Weaver, Susan Childers and Sandra Starr.
A memorial service will be held at Resurrection Catholic Church at a later date, with burial at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL. The family suggests that contributions in Rudy's memory be made to the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of America. Gentry Morrison Funeral home in Lakeland, FL, is assisting the family with the arrangements. Rudy will be remembered for his dedication to his family and his zest for life.
