Lakeland – Ruby Carolyn Wise, 66, passed away at home, surrounded by her loving family on May 27, 2017.

Mrs. Wise was born in Lakeland, FL on June 14, 1950, and remained a lifelong resident of the area. She loved her family, and took great pleasure in caring for her grandchildren. Mrs. Wise was preceded in death by her mother, Carolyn Williams; sisters, Patricia Apsey and Edna Baisden; brothers, Clifford and Joseph Williams; and her grandson, Timmy Wise. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, James "Pete" Wise, Sr.; children, James (Anita) Wise, Jr. and Kenneth (Kimberly) Wise; sister, Mildred Dart; brothers, Jerry (Connie) Williams and John Williams; grandchildren, Courtney Wise, Kyle Wise, Sarah Short, Lauren Wise, Kaili Frye, Savannah Wise and Zahra Frye; great-grandchildren, Corbin Poling and Rhubee Wise.

Funeral services will be conducted Wed. (May 31st) at 10 am at Gentry Morrison Southside Chapel, 1727 Bartow Rd. Lakeland. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Burial Park.
