Ron Lewis
Lakeland – Ron Lewis, 68, passed away from heart failure May 23, 2014.
Ron was born in Plant City, FL on Aug. 1, 1945, and remained a lifelong resident of the area. He served in the U.S. Navy and was an auxiliary member of the VFW Post 8002. Ron worked in the bus transportation industry for over 55 years. In his spare time he enjoyed gardening and playing with his dog, Trixie.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Hanford and Oveda Lewis; and brother, Larry Lewis. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Mary Lewis; children, Scott (Denise) Lewis, Michele (George) Novis, Pamela (Jeff) Daniels and Tracey (Brian) Jones; siblings, Ralph and Randall Lewis, and Wanda Payne; grandchildren, Dustin, Ashley, Brittany, Josh, Dayna, Joseph, Devin, Dalton, Heather and Christal; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Rylan and Kolby.
Visitation will be Thurs. from 10-11 am at Gentry-Morrison at Serenity Gardens, 3350 Mall Hill Dr. Lakeland. Services will follow at 11 am at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the VFW Post 8002, 9398 US Highway 98 N., Lakeland, FL 33809.
