Obituary

Robert Stuart

Mulberry – Robert Stuart, 91, passed away on Sept 2, 2023.

Bob was born on Aug 15, 1932 in Chicago IL. He spent his career in the tool & die industry at Skil Corp, starting at age 18. In the early 80's Bob was transferred to Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, at a time when Bosch had bought and expanded Skil operations. He enjoyed life in Pocahontas AR, joining the Country Club, making many new friends, and of course, golfing. He retired as the Tool & Die department supervisor after more than 40 years with the same company. In 1997, after retirement, he joined his "little girls" down in Florida. They had moved to Florida from Chicago with their own families, during his working years. He enjoyed Florida with his Mom, his two brothers, his wife, Anita (Mom), and their daughters, (Linda, Sue, Janis, and Laura) and his many grandchildren. He was a member of Imperial Lakes Country Club. His biggest joy in life was always golf. He and Mom (Anita) played all over the country, beginning in the Chicago area in the sixties. Other things important to him besides family and golf were friends, travel and cold beer. He was never one to be idle. He played his last golf at age ninety-one on his birthday last month. He will be missed by many, including the squirrels he fed everyday in his backyard.

Mr. Stuart was preceded in death by the love of his life, whom he married in 1951, Anita Stuart; as well as his brother, James Stuart. He is survived by his daughters, Linda (Wyman) Donaldson, Susan (Darryl) Giliam, Janis Mason and Laura (Vern) Piel; brother, Glenn Stuart; 18 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be conducted Friday, Sept. 8th at 2 pm at Gentry Morrison Southside Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice: https://www.chaptershealth.org/foundation/good-shepherd-hospice-donation/
