Robert Sanders, 78, passed away on June 28, 2016. He was born on May 2, 1938, in Fort Myers, FL, to Raleigh and Mary Lou Sanders. Robert was in the first graduating class at USF, earning a Bachelor's Degree. He served honorably in the U.S. Army. Robert married the love of his life, Florence, and they shared 49 years together. He owned and operated Sanders Insurance agency in Lakeland and was a member of the Citrus Center Kiwanis Club. Robert enjoyed gardening and most of all, he loved life.

Robert was preceded in death by his brothers, William and Raleigh Sanders; and sister, Mary Annie Sanders. He is survived by his loving wife, Florence; sons, Bryan and Philip Sanders; granddaughter, Sophie Sanders; and his Scottish Terrier, Penny.

A visitation will be held on Friday, July 8, 2016, from 6 to 8 PM with a funeral service on Saturday, July 9, 2016, at 2 pm, at Gentry Morrison Southside Chapel, 1727 Bartow Road, Lakeland.
