Happy Birthday Dad! I wanted to pick up the phone to call you today but realize I no longer can do that. We would have talked about the recent storms, golf, USF football, family and how the grandkids are doing. You always asked me how I was doing, how Sara and the kids were doing. What college was Jenna thinking of currently. How Eric, Steven and Johnathan were doing in their jobs. How were there girlfriends doing. Plans for marriage soon. We would talk about my business opportunities and get your thoughts, etc...
It hasn't hit me yet that you are truly gone. The good lord has taken you to heaven to soon! I'm assuming he has put you to work greeting folks coming in though! You were always good with people. Always saw the good in folks and never met a stranger.
I wanted to thank you. You did a great job as a father. You were my mentor, helping me as a kid grow into a man, helping me with my business career and helping me with my family. You helped instill the right values in me and in particular with how to treat people. You always wanted to help people, listen to them and treat them as you wanted to be treated.
As I mention to friends that you knew you about your passing, I always here great stories and comments. I even have learned some new things about you, which I truly appreciate. :)
Dad, you did a great job and left a great legacy. It was my honor to be your son and I will truly miss you. May you rest in peace. I will see you someday, hopefully not too soon though! :)
I love you Dad!
Jeff
