Raymond "Ray" Parrish's Obituary
Raymond (Ray) Parrish, age 84, of Plant City, FL, passed away on November 18, 2022.
Ray was born on January 2, 1938 to the late Arlie and Bessie Parrish in Eustis, FL. He joined the Navy at age 17 and served on the USS Essex. After his military service, he worked for Shoney's Restaurants and then became one of the founding creators of Captain D's Seafood. He later owned two Captain D's restaurants in central Florida. Ray was a member of the Masonic Order and was a Shriner. He was a loving and devoted husband to his wife Anna for over 59 years. He also loved fishing, gardening, watching birds nesting in his many bird houses, and he had a passion for eating food, especially fried fish.
Ray was preceded in death by daughter Deborah (Debbie) Darlene Parrish. Survivors include his wife Anna Parrish of Plant City, FL, sons Scott Parrish (Missy) of Lakeland, FL, Steve Parrish (Anita) of Lakeland, FL, and Tony Parrish of Plant City, FL, daughter Teresa Waters (Steve) of Plant City, FL, sister Willie Dean of Louisiana, grandchildren Nikki Parrish, Ryan Montgomery, Brittney Panther, Austin Waters, Brandon Waters, and seven great grandchildren with two more on the way.
Private services will be held on Monday, November 28, 2022 at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home at Serenity Gardens.
Dad is now at peace but he will live on forever in our hearts. We loved him so much.
