Rachel Pauline "Polly" Murphy passed away on December 17, 2017 in Lakeland. Born in Babson Park, FL on April 7, 1925, she married Marvin P. Murphy on January 31, 1941. The coupled lived most of their married lives in Wauchula, FL and had been married for 63 years upon Mr. Murphy's death on December 20, 2004.

Mrs. Murphy is survived by three children, son, Lamarr (Lois), Lakeland, FL; daughter, Marlene Green (Miles); son, Tim; all of Wauchula, FL; three sisters, Sandra Duckworth; Audrey Knowles; Bettie DiFiore, all of Dallas, TX; two grandchildren, Wendy McGovern (Francis); Marvin (Bay St. Louis, Mississippi); three great grandchildren, Karter McGovern, Brennan Murphy, Tanner Murphy; numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Lula Wilkerson Knowles; brothers Bill, Jr., and Marvin.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, December 23 at 2 p.m., Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 470 Old Polk City Rd, Lakeland, FL.
