Phyllis Ann Richards, 80 of Lakeland, Florida passed awayFriday January 6, 2023 at her home. Phyllis was born Wednesday May 20, 1942 in Moundsville, West Virginia to Robert and Mary (Garey) Mickey. Phyllis started her career as a nurse in West Virginia before moving to New York and then finally to Florida. After moving to Lakeland, she opened and operated The Residence Retirement Center, Inc. for 45 years. In addition to her parents, Phyllis is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Thomas J.L. Richards and three brothers, Dean, Julius and Leo Mickey and a sister, Alice Ralbusky. Phyllis is survived by her children, Tomas (Kim) Richards of Lakeland, Mildred Ann Hayes of Palm Beach and Matthew (Sara) Richards of Lakeland; her grandchildren, Austin (Aislinn), Ridge (Karli) and Zen Richards, Madison & Lauren Hayes and Cora & Zoe Richards; her great-grandchildren, Taylor, Emmie, Reese, & Archer Richards; her sister, Pauline (Dale) Parson of Canton, OH; her brother, Roger (Gerry) Mickey of Moundsville, WV; her sister-in-law, Jean Mickey of Cameron, W. Virginia and several nieces and nephews. Phyllis's family would like to extend a heartfelt thankyou to Good Shepherd Hospice for their support. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
