Phenia May Johnson, 91
Lakeland – Mrs. Phenia May Edenfield Johnson passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2015.
Phenia was born on April 28, 1924 to Dewey and Myrtle May in Mendenhall, Mississippi. She was a charter member of Parkview Baptist Church and a member of the Pilot Club for over 50 years. She was also a member of the Poinsettia Garden Club and the Order of the Eastern Star for over 50 years. Phenia is a current member of First Baptist Church at the Mall.
She is preceded in death by her 1st husband, Willis Jackson Edenfield, Sr.; sons, Willis Jackson Edenfield, Jr. and Mark Curtis Edenfield; 2nd husband, Thomas M. Johnson, Jr.; brothers, Johnny Travis May, Grady Brown May and Willie Tillman May. Phenia is survived by her sons, Thomas M. Johnson, Jr. and Glenn T. Johnson (Jane); daughters, Cheri Lynn Standish (Miles) and Rebecca Ann Barber; brother, Curvin Dewey May; sister, Eva Jean Hinton; 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Florida Baptist Childrens Home.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2015 from 10:00 to 11:00 am at First Baptist Church at the Mall. Funeral services to follow at 11:00 am in the church chapel.
