Obie Doster's Obituary
Mr. Obie Doster, 81, of Lakeland died peacefully at his residence on Wednesday, Nov 21, 2018. Mr. Doster was born in Elamville, AL to Oscar & Zonie (Nance) Doster on September 7, 1937. Obie loved to laugh and spend time with his family and he was known to burn up the roads between Florida and Alabama visiting family in his home town. Obie worked hard all of his life as a roofer and painter in his younger days and selling produce and pecans at the Plant City Market later in life. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Mabel Fieckert, Talmer Doster, Travis Doster, Tom Doster, James Doster, Dalton Doster, Joyce Murphy, Daphne Weeks, and Wayne Doster. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Rosy, of Lakeland, children Barb Doster Bailey (Kelley), Sean Doster (Genesis), John "Pookie" Doster (Kendra), grandchildren Madison Sutherland, Trey Doster, Victoria, Mickey, Rae Duncan, and Gabriel Doster, great grandchild Jordan Brend, sisters Elinor Carroll and Betty Warren, and brother Bobby Doster. Obie's family will receive friends on Wednesday, Nov. 28th, beginning at 1:00 pm, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 pm at Gentry Morrison Funeral Home, 3350 Mall Hill Dr, Lakeland, FL.
