Michael (Mike) Lynn Grinstead, 65, of Lakeland, Florida passed away on Tuesday, July 7, 2026.

Mike was born in Verdun, France to Herbert Grinstead and Jeanine Coller. He was preceded in death by his father, Herbert Grinstead; his stepfather, Frank Coller; and his best friend, Mike Dunlap. 

Mike proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States AirForce.

He leaves behind his two daughters, Megan Lindsey and Michelle Grinstead; his mother, Jeanine Coller; his sister Rachel Mc Clain (Jeff Mc Clain); his former wife and longtime friend, Carolyn Lindsey; and his eagerly awaited first grandchild, Malachi. He is also survived by many beloved extended family members in the U.S. and France.

Mike was a kind and gentle soul who never knew a stranger. Laid-back and easygoing, he enjoyed the simple things in life. Having spent his early years in France, Mike spoke both French and English and remained connected to his French roots throughout his life. He loved fishing and being out on the ocean, spending time with his family and friends, and enjoying the company of his beloved dogs. He was also an avid sports fan and especially loved cheering on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Florida Gators. Whether on the water, watching a game, relaxing with friends, or spending time with the people he loved, Mike was happiest simply enjoying the moment and the people around him.

Mike will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family, friends and all those whose lives were touched by his kindness.

Mike will be laid to rest with military honors at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida, on Monday, July 27, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.
