Mary Mackie Mitchell, born January 2, 1945, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2020 at The Estates at Carpenters, near her home in Lakeland, Florida.

Mary was born in Greensboro, North Carolina to Carl Martin Mackie and Ethel Pamperin Mackie. She attended Guilford College, in Greensboro, NC prior to starting a family and subsequently pursuing a career in the banking industry. After their marriage, they relocated to Germany for several years before returning to the States.

Mary had a long and successful career in her field where she achieved the distinction, among other things, of being the first woman Senior Vice President of Trust and Estates at the Bank of Tampa. She retired from her career on March 30, 2019.

She was preceded in death by her parents Carl Martin Mackie and Ethel Pamperin Mackie and her brother Carl David Mackie.

Mary is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Nathan Idol Mitchell of Lakeland, FL; their sons Jonathan of St Petersburg, FL; Mark of Pleasant Prairie, WI; Stephen of Tampa, FL; and her beloved grandchildren Mason, Kylie, Reagan, and Audrey.

Mary and Nathan both traveled extensively over the years for work and pleasure, and enjoyed learning about the world, but more importantly, they enjoyed the times they had to savor life together. Notwithstanding their time overseas, and their busy work schedules, they always found time to enjoy their families on holidays and other times that they were able to be together.

A Memorial Service for Mary is scheduled for November 18, 2020 with Family Greeting beginning at 10:00 AM to be followed by a Memorial Service from 11:00AM to 12:00PM at Gentry Morrison Funeral Home, 3350 Mall Hill Drive, Lakeland, Fl. 33810
