Mathis, Mary E., 71, Lakeland passed away on October 3, 2015. She was born on January 26, 1944 here in Lakeland to the late Charles and Alma Edwards. Mary was preceded in death by her husband Marvin, twin brother Charles Edwards, and sister Louise Blase. Mary spent many years working in the hair salon perfecting her craft as a hairdresser. She had many hobbies, most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Mary was a member of the Kathleen Baptist Church, as well as being involved in the Seniors Club. Mary is survived by two daughters; Melissa (Bill) Mumbauer, and Debora (Jerry) Walker, grandchildren; Mallory (Travis) Thompson, Lacey (Sean) Green, Barrett Walker, Joshua Walker, and Sydney Mumbauer, brothers; James Edwards, Robert (Nancy) Edwards, and John (Lydia) Edwards, sisters; Margaret (Dwight) Goodner, and Virginia Nance. A Viewing will be on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 from 6-8pm at Gentry Morrison Funeral Home Southside Chapel. The funeral will be on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at 10am at the funeral home.
