Mary Merle Jones Lakeland – Mary Merle Jones, 94, went home to be with the Lord Nov. 11, 2023. Mrs. Jones was born in Beaufort, SC on June 29, 1929, to the late Leon & Annabelle McTeer. She loved attending church and reading her Bible, as well as completing crossword puzzles. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard E. Jones; brothers, Ted and Bobby; sisters, Eleanor, Arlene, Doris and Shirley. She is survived by her son, Jeff Jones; brothers, Hinson, Fred and Everett. Visitation will be Thurs. from 6-8 pm at Gentry Morrison Southside Chapel, followed by a service on Fri. at 11 am at the funeral home. Interment will be in Oak Hill Burial Park.
