Marvin Lee Crosby's Obituary
Marvin Lee Crosby, 72 of Lakeland, Florida, passed away after nearly a year long battle with cancer on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at his home.
Marvin was born on December 8, 1946 in Atlanta, Georgia to Arthur Lee and Ruth (Daniel) Crosby. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Vietnam War. He spent a 30 year career with GTE/Verizon before retiring in 1999. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed collecting coins, watching sci-fi movies and making people laugh. But most importantly he was a Christian man who loved God and adored his family and friends.
Marvin is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sarah Caroline Crosby, his daughters; Susan Ortiz (Joedie) of Auburndale, FL, Teresa Hicks (Ryan) and Lori Williams (Troy) both of Lakeland, his grandchildren; Andrew (Kimberly) Hancock, Cameron (Skylar) Hicks, Whitney Hicks (Jake), Allena Williams, Dakota Williams and Wesley Williams. He is also survived by a large extended family.
A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. on June 15 at Edgewood Church of Christ, 1815 E. Edgewood Drive, Lakeland, FL 33803. Flowers can be delivered to the service between 8 and 10 a.m. on Saturday or to the family home at 5634 Tillman Rd, Lakeland, FL 33810 where they will be transported to the service.
