Jill Paulus
From Jill Paulus (Dean Paulus) Saracino.
I am sorry to hear of Mark’s passing, and also his struggle with MS, which I heard from Betty, John Letzter’s sister. My first memories of your family include Mark’s birthday celebrated with Tom Gabler. Your mom got all the kids beanies with take-off top-propellers. Your mom was a kind and thoughtful person who raised good kids, you of course included Nancy. I babysat you and Susan, I think from the time I was 12 or 13. Mark was more socially active than me. So he was not staying home with you.
He was one of Dean’s first friends ( after Dean moved to White Pines from Chicago). They were crossing guards together in 6th grade at Johnson school, and your mom brought Dean to the orthodontist he and Mark shared. Your mom and my mom went to Chicago Health Club together; if you remember my mom didn’t drive.
I remember your parents’ house at Lake Marie, and the whole neighborhood there. Life passes quickly, it seems when you reach 70, but memories are the gifts of comfort. I am sorry to hear of Mark’s passing.
