Obituary

MARJORIE (MARGE) WAGNER, 95 Music Teacher LAKELAND - Mrs. Wagner, 95, departed this life of natural causes on March 29, 2014. Born in Hermann, Missouri, on October 27, 1918, she lived in nearby Washington and St. Louis before moving to Florida in 1955 with her husband, Ernie Wagner. Employed as a secretary until her move to Florida, she resumed her life-long love of music, became an organ teacher at Tampa Music Company, and head organist at Most Holy Redeemer Church. Marge was one of the first two women inducted into the Tampa Women'sBowling Association Hall of Fame, and was well known as a sports enthusiast. Other interests included fishing, knitting, crocheting, quilting, china painting, and antique collecting. A descendent of several families settling in Virginia in the mid-1600s, Marge became a member of the National Society United States Daughters of 1812, the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, and the National Society Colonial Dames XVII Century. She was a member of their local chapters, and the Connoisseur Group ofthe Lakeland Antique Collectors Club. She and her husband were members of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Lakeland. Preceded in death were her loving husband, Ernest (Ernie) Wagner; her parents Albert R. Meyers and Hallie Maddox Meyers; two sisters Anna M. Daughtery and Mary Frances Neely; and one brother, Elmer B. Meyers. Survivors are son David Wagner and wife Janet; son James Wagner and wife Robin, and grandsons Bryan and Corey Wagner; one nephew Dan A. Neely, and two nieces Carol Bailey and Frances Rainey. Funeral mass will be at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Lakeland on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at 11:00 am, followed by a reception at Foxwood Lake Estates Clubhouse. Interment will be at the National Cemetery in Sarasota, Florida. Memorials may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice, 105 Arneson Ave., Auburndale, FL 33823 Arrangements by Gentry-Morrison at Serenity Gardens.
