Lydia LaVerne Edwards A lifetime Lakeland resident passed away July 10, 2023, at the age of 73. Lydia was a life member of Bethel Baptist Church. She loved crochet, needlework, embroidery, making jewelry, Bible Studies, travel, and mission trips, and reading all types of books, but overall, family and time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren was her passion.

Lydia will be greatly missed by her husband, John R. Edwards of Lakeland, FL, sister Margie (Charlie) Nelson of Lakeland, Florida, sister Vicky Bridges of Lakeland, Florida, brother Ezra Raulerson, III of Florida, son John (Christy) Edwards, Jr. of Friendswood, Texas, daughter Kelly (Zhahn) Troyan of Lakeland, Florida, daughter Joy Jansen of Lakeland, Florida. Also surviving are her beloved grandchildren Bryan Edwards, Catherine Edwards, and Benjamin Edwards all of Friendswood, Texas, Megan Klein, MaryAnn Klein, and Michael (Jennifer) Klein all of Lakeland, Florida, Macaulay (Shelby) Klein of Orange, Texas, Alyssa (Drew) Stanton of Columbia, South Carolina, Alayna Jansen, Alyvia Jansen, and Alyana Jansen all of Lakeland, Florida and 10 Great Grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 15th from 10:30 am- 11:00 am with services to begin at 11:00 am Bethel Baptist Church, 3125 W. Socrum Loop Road, Lakeland, Florida 33810. Burial will be at Socrum Cemetery.
