Luie Baez, 60, passed away in Lakeland on Monday, July 31, 2023. Born to parents Pedro and Esperanza Baez in Newark, New Jersey on March 22, 1963, Luie was a loving father to his 5 children, and loved all things baseball. Go Mets! Luie is preceded in death by his parents and brother Hector Baez. He is survived by sons Charlie Baez and Joevanni Baez; daughters Kathy Rivera, Kayla Baez, and Raquel Baez; brothers Orlando Baez, Ralph Baez, Rick Baez, Spook Baez and George Baez; sister Soqui Baez; and 10 grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 10, 2023 from 10-11:00 AM, followed by funeral service at 11:00 AM, at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home, Serenity Gardens Chapel. Following services, Luie will be laid to rest at Serenity Gardens.
