Leslie Ellen Lewis Wilbanks, passed away in Bartow, Florida, on June 29, 2026, at the age of 43. Born on April 9, 1983, in Bartow, she remained close to her roots and her family throughout her life.
Leslie was the beloved daughter of Alan and Barbara Lewis. She is survived by her husband, Aaron Wilbanks; her son, Matthew Thigpen (Melody); her daughter, Cadence Genice Thigpen; and her adored granddaughter, Daisy Thigpen, who lovingly called her “Gigi.” Leslie’s legacy continues through each of these cherished relationships. She was predeceased by her sister, Genice Green, her grandfathers Oren Gilman and Henry Gilley, and her grandmothers Barbara Gilman and Martha Gilley.
Professionally, Leslie distinguished herself as both a Title Closing Agent and a Graphic Designer. Her work was marked by diligence and creativity, reflecting her hands-on approach to every task. As a crafter and project-oriented individual, Leslie found joy in creating with her hands and imparting that sense of accomplishment to those around her.
A woman of deep faith and boundless generosity, Leslie worked with children’s church and youth ministries at several churches, guiding young lives with compassion and enthusiasm. Her involvement extended beyond the spiritual, she shared her talents freely, uplifting others through her engaging presence.
Leslie’s love for music was evident to all who knew her; she possessed a remarkable voice described often as angelic and was an accomplished songwriter. Singing brought her happiness, and she used her gift to inspire and entertain those around her.
Her personality shone through her sense of humor and her devotion to her loved ones. Leslie delighted in making people laugh, cherished time with her family, and held a special bond with her granddaughter. Known for her compassion, she also maintained a deep love of animals.
Above all, Leslie lived by the guiding words of Philippians 4:13, a testament to her enduring faith and resilience: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
