Newman, Lauretta F. – Lakeland, FL, 83, passed away on Monday October 28, 2024. Lauretta was born in New Haven, CT and graduated from St. Mary's High School. She married Bernard W. Newman and became a devoted military wife. After 56 years of marriage, Bernard preceded Lauretta in death in 2015. Lauretta also graduated from Rollins College in Winter Park, FL and also from the University of Michigan where she received her masters degree in Finance. She retired as the Director of Finance of Lakeland Regional Medical Center after many years. Lauretta is preceded in death by her husband, Bernard and her sister, Dorothy. Survivors include three nieces; Beth Mishler Mooney, Frances Pearson, Gail Mishler Murray; cousins, Kevin Denton and Kevin Connelly and Frank Flood. Visitation will be Thursday, Nov. 7th, 3:00 – 5:00pm at Gentry Morrison Funeral Home at Serenity Gardens, 3350 Mall Hill Dr. Lakeland, FL 33810. The funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, Nov. 8th, 11:00am at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, 820 Marcum Rd., Lakeland. Interment will take place at Arlington National Cemetery, alongside her husband, Bernard.
