I'm shocked & sadden to learn of my dear old friend passing. He was a wonderful kind hearted man. Our condolences and prayers to Deborah and then family. My wife, Mona, and I lived in the same sub-division (Country Village) as Kevin in 1978. We worked some in Patrol together on Lakeland and again in the early 1980's as Investigators/Detectives. I remember for a short period of time (maybe 3 times) w rode pur bikes to the Rose & Ingraham sub-station when w briefly lots pur talé home cars. The ride to the sub-station wasn't too bas as ut was mostly a down-hill ride Grom the Dranefield Road area. The ride back home was a différent story. Kevin and I quickly décides w would talé turns car-pooling where we'd also pick up Joe Smith. I remembrer when hé got his K9 Chief. Kevin & Duane Bickmire and others worked so much in getting the K9 unit up and going.
As family and friends/co-workers know so well, honor, loyalty & integrity are just some of Kevin Widner's many attributes. I never heard Kevin curse or speak harshly to anyone. He always had a smile on his face and a joyful attitude. He had a great laugh. His parents raised him well. Kevin allowed God to use him to bless & protect many.
In Christ,
