Kathleen King, 80, passed away on September 4, 2023, in Lakeland, FL. Mrs. King was born in Lewiston, Maine, where she resided until she met her husband, Douglas. After meeting, their love for each other was immediate, as they were married in three days. Sixty-two years later, their love remains. Mrs. King loved her family deeply and enjoyed showing that love through cooking, baking, and sewing. When her children were young, she handcrafted many of their clothes. She enjoyed trips to Disney World, cruises and traveling to Maine to visit her family. Mostly, it was the time shared with her family which made the difference. Mrs. King is survived by her husband, Douglas King; daughter, Polly McKenzie; son, Douglas King Jr. (Cathy); grandchildren, Timmy Godwin (Christina), Chelsea Howard (Tytus), Kaitlyn King, Lexy King; great-grandchildren, Kinsley, Willow, and TJ, and many extended family and friends. Graveside services will be held on Monday, September 11, 2023, at 11 am at Oak Hill Burial Park.
