Julia Francisca Ramirez, a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and proud veteran of the United States Air Force, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2025, in Lakeland, Florida, at the age of 88.
Born on November 8, 1936, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Julia carried her Puerto Rican roots with pride and grace throughout her life. She moved from New York to Lakeland over 30 years ago, where she found a warm and welcoming community that she embraced as her own.
In 1962, Julia married the love of her life, Luis Alfredo Ramirez. Together, they built a beautiful family and shared a lifetime of memories grounded in faith, love, and perseverance.
A veteran of the United States Air Force, Julia served her country with dignity and honor. Her discipline and commitment were evident not only in her military service but in every aspect of her life.
Julia was a woman of deep faith who found joy and strength in writing and reading the Word. Her love for Scripture was a guiding light, and she often shared her reflections and insights with family and friends.
She is survived by her loving children: Walter Ruiz, Deborah Karen Ramirez Nash, and spouse John Nash and Wayne Alfredo Ramirez and wife Aida Yvette Ramirez; her cherished grandchildren: Raquel Ruiz, Jeanette Ruiz, Prescilla Famularo and spouse, Abigail, Wanda, Walter Ruiz Jr., Luis Antonio Garcia, and Deanna Yvette Maldonado; and her precious great-grandchildren: Jocelyn Famularo, Anthony Famularo Jr., Ariah, Sophia, Elijah Garcia, and Cora Maldonado.
Julia’s legacy of love, resilience, and faith will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She will be remembered for her warmth, wisdom, and unwavering devotion to her family and her faith.
