Julia Dene Parmes Matthews Lakeland - Julia Dene Parmes Matthews, 92 went home to be with her Lord Mar. 10. She was born 9/13/1925 to Bent & Minnie Parmes of Gosnell, Ark. The youngest of 4 (Anna, Reta & Charles.) She married Jay Matthews Jan. 23, 1945.They had one child Judie Dene (Matthews) Blackwell. They came to Christ as their Savior in their early thirties and Jay later served as a pastor in Peoria and Lakeland. Julia is survived by Judie serving in Africa with her husband Marc, Julia's 3 grandchildren serve the Lord in Africa as missionaries. They are: Marc Blackwell Jr, Michael D. Blackwell & Michelle Rensburg; Julia also has 8 greatgrandchildren:Nicole, Matthew, Tyler, Eric, Natalie, Ruan, Jesse,and Julia. A Memorial Service will be held on March 20, 2pm at Fellowship Baptist Church, 4625 Cleveland Heights Blvd. THE LORD IS GOOD!
