Joyce Eleanor Mathers Lakeland - Joyce Eleanor Mathers, 96, passed away November 26, 2025.

Mrs. Mathers was born in Lakeland on November 3, 1929, and remained a lifelong resident of Lakeland where she attended Winston Baptist Church for many years. Mrs. Mathers was an excellent cook and a very hard worker, but when she could get away, she loved to travel and often said her middle name was "Go." She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.

She will be deeply missed by her large family. Mrs. Mathers is survived by her children, Carolyn Magee, Lola Theresa Lord, David (Sandy) Mathers, Paula (Neil) Foster and Wesley (Jennifer) Mathers; sisters, Laverne Todaro and Rita Kaye Eckert; 31 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and numerous great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lamar Mathers; children, Stanley Mathers, Patricia Hart, Pamela Mathers and Katrina Jordaan; as well as 6 of her siblings. Visitation will be Saturday, December 6th from 10-11 am at Faith Baptist Church, 8550 FL-33, Lakeland, FL 33809.

Funeral services will follow at the church at 11 am. Interment will be at Oak Hill Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Winston Baptist Church, 3233 Old Tampa Hwy. Lakeland, FL 33803
