Obituary

Jorge A Villalobos passed on March 5, 2025, at the age of 89, in Lakeland, Florida. He lived with a spirit full of life and was always quick to turn a smile or funny face. Born August 21, 1935, to Justino and Adela (Sarraga) Villalobos in Santurce, Puerto Rico he learned the importance of family and hard work.

As a young man he served in the United States Army 65th Infantry. Jorge met the love of his life in Josefina Hernandez, and they were married in 1960 spending over 60 years building a family and home. He always like to keep his room neat and tidy with the house full of his beloved Spanish music. You could feel his presence in a room and many occasions would be the center of attention to create or share a laugh. Jorge carried himself with respect and showed his care to all of his family.

Preceded in death by his parents Justino and Adela Villalobos. He is survived by his wife Josefina; children Jorge L., Ana I., Felix A., Alberto, and Kirsys; grandchildren Byron Jr, Jason Ed, Kimberly, Christian, Jonathan Ed, Jami L. Ed, Johanny, Georgie, Elena, Virginia and Jessica; and great grandkids Byron III, Ayanna, Brianna, Felipe, Nevaeh, Zoey, Isabella, Lillian and Julia.

Jorge has left a lasting legacy. A visitation to celebrate his life will be held at Gentry-Morrison Southside Chapel Tuesday, March 11, 2025, from 9:30-11:00 AM with a funeral service to follow. He will be laid to rest at Oak Hill Burial Park.

Jorge A. Villalobos falleció el 5 de marzo de 2025, a la edad de 89 años, en Lakeland, Florida. Vivió con un espíritu lleno de vida y siempre estaba dispuesto a mostrar una sonrisa o una cara divertida. Nació el 21 de agosto de 1935, de Justino y Adela (Sarraga) Villalobos en Santurce, Puerto Rico, y aprendió la importancia de la familia y el trabajo duro.

Como joven, sirvió en el 65º Regimiento de Infantería del Ejército de los Estados Unidos. Jorge conoció al amor de su vida en Josefina Hernández, y se casaron en 1960, pasando más de 60 años formando una familia y un hogar. Siempre le gustaba mantener su habitación ordenada y limpia, con la casa llena de su amada música española. Podías sentir su presencia en una habitación y muchas veces era el centro de atención, creando o compartiendo risas. Jorge se condujo con respeto y mostró su cariño a toda su familia.

Le precedieron en la muerte sus padres Justino y Adela Villalobos. Le sobrevive su esposa Josefina; sus hijos Jorge L., Ana I., Félix A., Alberto y Kirsys; sus nietos Byron Jr., Jason Ed, Kimberly, Christian, Jonathan Ed, Jami L. Ed, Johanny, Georgie, Elena, Virginia y Jessica; y sus bisnietos Byron III, Ayanna, Brianna, Felipe, Nevaeh, Zoey, Isabella, Lillian y Julia.

Jorge ha dejado un legado duradero. Se llevará a cabo una visita para celebrar su vida en la capilla Gentry-Morrison Southside el martes 11 de marzo de 2025, de 9:30 a 11:00 AM, seguido de un servicio fúnebre. Será sepultado en el Parque de Cementerio Oak Hill.
