JoAnn Batton, 79, passed away peacefully at her home in Lakeland, Florida, surrounded by the love she so generously shared throughout her life. She left behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and unwavering devotion to her family.
Born on August 6, 1946, in Lakeland, Florida, JoAnn found her greatest purpose in caring for those she loved. She was a devoted mother, a proud grandmother and great-grandmother, and the heart of her family. Her home was always a place of comfort, laughter, and unconditional love, where everyone felt welcomed and cared for.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her beloved children, Corey and Tracey; her parents, Lucille D'Amelio and Ellis Brady; and her brother, Robert Brady.
She is lovingly survived by her children, Derrick and Cissy; her sisters, Linda Batton and Margie Batton; 20 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren, all of whom were blessed by her unconditional love and the lasting legacy she leaves behind.
Those who knew JoAnn will remember her for her generous heart, quiet strength, and the way she always put others before herself. She found joy in life's simple moments—spending time with family, watching her grandchildren grow, and creating memories that will be treasured for generations.
Though her passing leaves an immeasurable void, her love will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched. Her family takes comfort in knowing that her compassion, resilience, and unwavering love will remain a lasting part of their lives.
The family invites all who knew JoAnn to celebrate her life by sharing stories, honoring her memory, and extending the same kindness and love that she gave so freely to everyone around her.

A visitation will be held on Friday, July 24th, 2026 at Gentry-Morrison Serenity Gardens Chapel from 2:00-3:00 PM followed by funeral services at 3:00 PM.
