Jerry Dean Wilt's Obituary
Jerry Dean Wilt, 63, passed away at his home in Lakeland on Tuesday, November 14, 2023.
Jerry was born to parents Roy and Nadine (Wadell) Wilt on March 28, 1960, and remained a lifelong resident of Lakeland. He graduated from Kathleen High School in 1978 and was a longtime employee for the City of Lakeland. Jerry ran his own business, Wilt’s Farms & Service (Wilt’s Engine Services) for many years and was plant manager at McIntosh Powerplant in Lakeland for over 30 years upon retiring in 2010.
Jerry is preceded in death by his infant son, Jason Daniel Wilt, brother Stephen Wilt, first wife Tammy, and second wife Judith.
He is survived by his wife Carol, son Jeremy (Kristin) Wilt, daughter Rachel (Nathaniel) Wittman, brothers Matthew (Wendy) Wilt and Roy (Monica) Wilt, Jr., as well as several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 20, 2023 from 10-11:00AM, with funeral service to follow at 11:00AM, at Crestview Baptist Church, 615 Old Polk City Rd, Lakeland, FL 33809. Interment at Socrum Cemetery.
