Mr. Jerry R. Harris, 88, passed away in Lakeland on Sunday, June 23, 2024. Jerry was born December 1, 1935, in Dayton, Ohio to parents Edwin and Elma (Wood) Harris. He has been a resident of Lakeland since 1998. Jerry is a veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Vietnam War from 1955 to 1958. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, David Harris. He is survived by his wife, Gloria J. Harris; sons Ken Harris (Debbie), William Harris, Michael Schmidt, and Kevin Schmidt; daughters Sara Harris, Gail Huntsman, Diane Naylor, and Pamela Leonard; nephew Michael Harris (Sue); and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 AM, with funeral service to follow at 11:00AM, on Friday, June 28, 2024, at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home, Serenity Gardens Chapel. Jerry will be laid to rest privately at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.
