Professor Irvin Ziemann, 80, went to be with the Lord on August 8, 2016. Irvin was born on May 28, 1936, in Shell Lake, WI, to Henry and Glennie Ziemann. He began his career teaching High School in Iola, WI and later teaching English in Patras, Greece. After receiving his Master’s Degree, he began teaching at Southeastern University. Irvin was active in many areas of Southeastern University, including editing scripts for The Truth Factory, Inc. Christian Community Theater. He authored several books during his nearly 50 years of teaching under the pen name, “Mr. Zee”. He was presented with an Honorary Doctorate’s Degree in 2009. Irvin married the love of his life, Gwendolyn, and they raised 2 daughters. He was a member of Southside Assembly of God in Lakeland. The world has lost a truly wonderful man, but Heaven has gained a faithful follower of the Lord. He will be greatly missed by all his former students, colleagues, friends, and his loving family.
Irvin was preceded in death by his daughter, Wendy Ziemann.
He is survived by his best friend, Gwendolyn Timmons; daughter, Heidi (David) Creason; brother, David Ziemann; sister, Amy Blubaugh; grandchildren, Michaela Creason, Corey McLaughlin, and Lexi Creason.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2016, from 10 to 11 a.m., with a funeral service to follow at 11 a.m., at Gentry Morrison Southside Chapel, 1727 Bartow Road, Lakeland. A graveside service will follow at Oak Hill Burial Park.
In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Southeastern University and/or Southside Assembly of God Building Fund.
