Lakeland - Herbert Ray Sprouse, 87, died Wed. July 27, 2016 at Highland Lake Center. He was a member of Southside Assembly of God Church for many years. He is a retiree of the Eastern Air Lines of Miami with 40 plus years of service. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army. He is preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Ollie Shelton Sprouse; wife of 54 years, Viola Goosie Sprouse; brothers, William of Newport, TN, James of CA, Glenn of Knoxville, TN, and Hugh Sprouse of Knoxville, TN. He is survived by his brother, David Sprouse of Knoxville, TN; sisters, Helen S. Hale of Corryton, TN, Golda of Cleveland, TN, brother in law, Donald C. Hale of Corryton, TN; sister in law, Vnora Sprouse; and several nieces and nephews. The family wants to thank the caregivers at Highland Lake Center and Herbert's neighbors for their professional care for Herbert. A graveside service will be held Fri. July 29, 2016 at 10 a.m. at Oak Hill Burial Park, 4620 US Hwy 98 S, Lakeland, FL.
