Lakeland - Helene was born on January 1, 1919 in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She moved to Lakeland with her husband and two children in 1945 from Miami, Florida.

Her career with the School Board of Polk County started after raising her three children. Helene became a school lunch manager at Southwest Elementary School. After retiring she volunteered devotedly at Churchwell and Rochelle Elementary in the library for several years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Stephanie Kojra and Walter Ustinowich, her husband Captain Clifford S. Kent, Sr., her sister Mary Kiejza, brothers, Joseph Ustinowich,and Capt. Frank J. Hustin, son, Walter S. Kent, grandson, Robert A. Maffet, daughter-in-law, Jane P. Kent and son-in-law, David A. Eschrich.

Helene is survived by her sister Anne Dalton of MA, son Clifford S. Kent, Jr. of TN, daughter Helena K. Eschrich of Lakeland, grandsons, Clifford S. Kent III (Billie Jo) of TX and J.B. Kent (Lauren) of TN, great granddaughters, Olivia Kent of TX and Parker Kent of TN and great grandson John Barton Kent of TN. Helene is also survived by her "old" faithful friend Harriet Douglas (Kenny) of Lakeland.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday 10 AM at Gentry-Morrison Southside Chapel, 1727 Bartow Road, Lakeland, followed by burial at Oak Hill Burial Park. Memorial donations may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice or the Salvation Army.
