Helen Juanita Schenck was born May 19, 1926, in Greenfield, Indiana into a Pastor's home. After a sister died at birth, she became the oldest of four children. Her father was a minister who pastored and also taught in a Bible College. She gave her heart to Jesus as a young child. After she graduated high school, she went to a Bible College. She graduated from Frankfort Pilgrim College with a Bachelor of Theology degree. (Th.B.). Helen was married to Melvin Lee for 64 years until he went to heaven 12 years ago. Together they had five children. Patricia Waymire (Dennis); Juanita Garcia (Eduardo); Sharon Walker (Dalbert); Deborah Winterberg (Dwayne); and Kenneth Schenck (Angela). All of the children are either married to ministers or are ministers. Helen had 12 grandchildren: Julie Waymire, Jennifer Waymire, Bryan Garcia, Alan Garcia, Daniel Walker, Jason Walker, Michael Winterberg, Jeremy Winterberg, Stefanie Patel (Rushi), Stacy Campos, Thomas Schenck, and Sophia Schenck. There are 9 great-grandchildren: Hannah Garcia, Ava Garcia, Phoebe Garcia, Ezekiel Garcia, Benjamin Garcia, Nathan Walker, Kevin Walker, Kamden Walker and Emorie Walker. Helen taught piano lessons to many children, most of the time after school. She was very involved in the churches she attended, playing the piano and organ, was a Sunday School teacher and the Women's Missionary Director. She also was Outreach Director for the FL District of the Wesleyan Church for many years. Helen was a PRAYING MOTHER. Even in her last days she prayed in the night for her family. She was Preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Lee, grandson, Michael Winterberg, brothers Paul and David Shepherd and one sister, Mary Bernadine Myers. Visitation is Wednesday, August 7 at Faith Wesleyan church from 10 till 11 o'clock a.m. The Funeral service is at 11 to 12 o'clock. The committal will be at Memorial Park cemetery in Indianapolis, Indiana.
