Heather McCoy Bacon

Lakeland – Heather McCoy Bacon, 43, passed away Oct. 6, 2018.

Heather Lea McCoy was born in Winston Salem, North Carolina, November 17,1974. She graduated from Lakeland Senior High School. Heather loved the arts when she was in school and participated in many plays. Following high school, she was a stay at home mom and brought up two beautiful children, Chase and Caitlyn. Many years later, when the children were older, she went to college in Vermont and Miami to study in the field of medicine. She truly loved every aspect of her medical surroundings and was diligent in her studies. She had a brilliant mind and received her degree and became a Surgical Assistant in Miami and Daytona Beach.

She moved back to Lakeland in 2015 and married a long time friend, Sidney Bacon. Sidney has been a dedicated, loving and supportive husband. Heather's family will always be grateful to him. In addition to her husband and children, Heather is survived by her mother and step father, Kathryn and Gregory Smith; sister, Kimberly Walker; and grandson, Carter. She was preceded in death by her father, Douglas A. McCoy.

Memorial Services will be held Monday, October 15, 2018 11 am at the Edgewood Church of Christ 1815 East Edgewood Dr. Lakeland, FL 33803
