George A. Thompson, 78 of Lakeland died on Friday, July 10, 2026, at his residence. 

George was born in Pontiac, MI to Curtis & Betty (Ball) Thompson. He moved to Lakeland in 1985 from Michigan. George began his career with the family business, Thompson Plumbing in Michigan and continued his career with Lake Mechanical in Central Florida. 

George was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Shirley, and daughter, Jodi Thompson. He is survived by his daughters Teri & Jim Bridges, Shelly & Ed Harter, and Son, Sean Thompson, all of Lakeland, his brother Dave & Cheryl Thompson of Waterford, MI, Sister Vera & Dan Easton of Fenton, MI, 7 Grandchildren, 8 Great, Grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home, Serenity Gardens Chapel, 3350 Mall Hill Dr, Lakeland, from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm at which time a service will take place.
