George "Big Kahuna" Lyon, 86, passed away peacefully at his home on July 16, 2015. He was born on December 8, 1928 in Brooklyn, NY to George W. and Ida Lyon. George and his wife, Joan, have enjoyed 64 years of marriage. He joined the Polk County Fire Department and retired with the rank of Lieutenant. George is preceded in death by his sons, Steve and Georgie Lyon. He is survived by his wife, Joan; children, Donna (John) Seiler, Lori (Don) Haase, Linda (Rick) Roberts, Christopher (Anita) Lyon, David (Ramona) Lyon; daughter in-law Debbie Lyon; grandchildren, Jill, Tina, Kelly, John, Joseph, Courtney, Andrew, D.J., Lindsey, Amanda, Jamie, Melanie, Ricky, Kayla, Dalton, Selena, Spencer; 28 great grandchildren; A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
