Obituary

Georga Harold Langley, age 91, passed away at his home in Lakeland, Florida, on Friday, May 9, 2025.

Born on September 1, 1933, in Winter Garden, Florida, Harold was raised by his devoted mother, Mildred (Crawford), as a single parent. After graduating from Winter Garden High School, he honorably served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Following his military service, Harold relocated to Washington, D.C., where he began a career working for Delta Airlines.

In 1968, he met the love of his life, Nancy Frank. They were married that July and spent the next 57 years building a life filled with love, faith, and family. In the mid-1970s, Harold and his family settled in Clinton, Mississippi, where he became deeply involved in the community.

A man of steadfast faith, he was instrumental in the founding and construction of the Episcopal Church of the Creator, which continues to thrive and serve the community to this day. The family moved to Lakeland in 1988, drawn by both the opportunity to be closer to extended family and a new position for Harold at Honeywell.

There, he worked as a computer and programming analyst until his retirement. Harold was a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, and a man guided by faith and integrity. He found joy in working outdoors, especially in growing pineapples, and his greatest joy came from doting on his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was a faithful member of All Saints Episcopal Church in Lakeland. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred, and his brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Chie Langley. He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Nancy; his children Tony (Rene) Langley, Angela (Dan) Burks, and Laura Tulowiecki; 11 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.
