Gene Ganus

A loving husband, father and grandfather passed away on January 20, 2025, at the age of 92. Born to Stancel Ganus and Ruby Humphries Ganus, Gene moved to Lakeland, Florida at the age of 2 coming from Clovis, New Mexico.

Gene proudly served in the United States Army, He married the love of his life, Thelma Bay on June 27, 1955. He retired from the City of Lakeland in 1989.

Gene loved spending time hunting, fishing, and woodworking as well as spending time with his family.

Gene will be deeply missed by his wife Thelma Bay Ganus, children Linda Ganus Snedeker, Gale Ganus Keef and Glen A. Ganus, grandchildren Lance Allen Snedeker, Nicole Keef Hope, Bethany Keef Stafford, Daniel James Keef, Kaitlyn Ganus Lord and Kenzie Ganus Taylor.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 25th from 2-3 PM with funeral services to begin at 3 PM, Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home at Serenity Gardens, 3350 Mall Hill Drive, Lakeland, Florida 33810. Burial will follow at Socrum Cemetery, Lakeland, Florida.
